Whether someone referred you or a quick search for "swimming pool contractor near me", you have come to the right place. There are many things to consider when you’re designing your pool. There are many types and shapes of pools along with added features such as fountains, hot tubs, steps, and design. The first thing that needs to be decided is the shape of pool that best fits your space. Below you will find a detailed list of different shapes and sizes of pools:

Free-form Pools

Freeform pools are designed to work with natural surroundings and are usually designed with an irregular shape, style, and curves. Newer and modern pools may incorporate rock and waterfall features to resemble a natural environment such as a pond, lake, or oasis. This provides you with a place to get away while still in the comfort of your home.

Geometric Pools

Geometric pools are known as traditional pool styles. They incorporate straight lines and sharp edges. Curves also may be used but are uniform throughout the design. Geometric pools work great in smaller place and are a perfect addition to any new, modern home. Contact our qualified inground pool contractors today!

Vanishing Edge

Vanishing edge pools are swimming pools with an edge that the water flows over. This makes the water appear as though it falls over the edge with no boundary. These pools are usually designed so that the edge appears to be dropping over another pool or larger backdrop such as an ocean or the sky.

Types of Entry

Steps

The traditional way into the pool is steps. While these are simple and effective, do not be afraid to think out the box. Steps can be designed as angular, curved, geometric or freeform to fit your needs. If you can dream it Nola Pool Cleaning and Maintenance can build it.

Baja Shelf

Baja entrances are becoming increasingly popular. A Baja entry is basically an enlarge second step which acts as a shelf with just a few inches of water covering it. This is a perfect way for easing yourself into the pool or placing a lounging chair and just relaxing with your feet in the water. This is a perfect place for small kids and pets to just sit and enjoy the water.

Beach Entry

While this is the most exotic of entries, it does have some benefits as well as some downfalls. A beach entry has no steps but gradually goes from pool decking into the pool. This design takes up more space and is not recommended for smaller pools but can be perfect to allow people with disabilities to get into and out of the pool. These pools will even allow wheelchair access into and out of the pool.

I thought my yard was too small to build a swimming pool. I am so glad I called Nola Pool and Maintenance. They made my dream of having a pool come true.

Answers to your most frequently asked questions

What can I expect when building a pool?
The most common type of inground pools built are concrete and plaster. Once a layout and design is chosen, a steel-enforced shell is created. Once this shell is created, then gunite or shotcrete is sprayed, leaving you with the desired shape and structure of the pool. Various types of finish materials and textures can be used to create the surface of the pool. These include plaster, cement, pebble, aggregate, or stone. Plaster is most popular since it can be dyed different colors and be repaired and refinished easily.

How long does it take to complete a pool building project?
Many factors contribute to the time it may take to complete a pool from start to finish. Weather, size, and features are contributing factors when it comes to time. Before the beginning of every project, our professionals will give you an estimated time of completion of your pool.

How do I decide the shape and layout of my pool?
Our professional designer will take every aspect of your home and yard into consideration when designing your pool. The first thing you must decide is what you really have your heart set on and what you are not willing to live without. While it is easy to add featured during construction, it is nearly impossible to do so after. So, if there is something you cannot live without, make sure to incorporate it into your design.

How thick is the gunite used in swimming pools?
Gunite thickness can range from 7”to 12”. In certain areas of the pool, the structure may require thicker installation of gunite.

I have a small yard. Can I still have an inground pool?

YES! Today, pool installation can accommodate any yard and space. Although small yards may limit the ability to use large equipment, our
swimming pool builders can use specialized compact equipment to get the job done.

What can I see during the excavation?
Building an inground pool is a large construction project. The location where the pool will be installed will be excavated along with trenches to and from the electrical panels and pump and motor location. Clients should expect their entire yard to be dug up. Any landscaping may need to be removed and/or replaced at the end of the project.

How much does building a pool cost?
According to Homeguide.com, the average cost to put in an inground pool is $35,000. Most homeowners spend between $28,000 and $55,000 depending on size and added features. The additional cost of pool ownership including
basic maintenance, increased utilities, and repairs range from around $2,500 to $5,000 a year.

What features should I get in my pool?
Water fountains and spas make a beautiful addition to your pool. You need to decide what is the most important thing to you and your family. If you are the type who loves a good soak in a hot tub, then it’s probably a good idea not to skimp on that. Our best advice is to use your best judgments on deciding what features will work best for you.
